Processing and properties of hollow glass microsphere particulate-filled PA2200 composites produced by selective laser sintering

Selective laser sintering (SLS) to prepare composites by adding filler into polymer is an effective method save costs and reinforce the sintered parts. This article investigated fabrication of PA2200 filled with different volume fractions hollow glass microsphere (HGM) SLS. HGM was prepared silane coupling agent surface treatment. The particle size distribution, microstructure, thermal mechanical properties PA2200/HGM were studied scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential calorimetry (DSC) tensile experiment. results indicated that density composite significantly reduced compared neat decreased HGMs content increasing. improved warping deformation in process sintering. modulus increased while strength elongation at break as a function fraction certain range. work polyamide-matrix can be reinforced adjusting content, powder good material for SLS less lower cost.
